This year’s Negev Gala, presented by JNF Canada and the Israel Magen Fund of Canada, honoured Ontario MPP Lisa MacLeod. With keynote speaker Warren Kinsella, the event raised funds for The Sderot Foundation in Israel.

This year’s event supported and strengthened Israel by raising funds for the Parenthood Centre in Sderot for Family Therapy, helping those affected by PTSD and trauma.

Supporting Families
and Children in Sderot
In Sderot, nearly 30,000 Israelis endure constant rocket, mortar, and incendiary attacks from Gaza. This community, already on Israel's socio-economic margins, faces the added burden of ongoing emotional trauma.
Lisa MacLeod
Lisa MacLeod is a six-time Ottawa MPP and the longest-serving woman at Queen’s Park. She has held multiple ministerial roles, including Ontario’s Minister of Children, Community and Social Services and Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sport.
She has been involved in international parliamentary delegations and addressed the UN on sex trafficking. Lisa's legislative successes include Rowan’s Law, Canada's first concussion legislation, and establishing Lebanese Heritage and Trans Remembrance Months. She has received several awards, including the 2018 EVE Award. Currently, she advocates for concussion safety and mental health awareness.
Special Guest Speaker: Warren Kinsella
Warren Kinsella is the president of Daisy Group, a PR and government relations firm. He has been a partner at McMillan Binch law firm and worked as a consultant, journalist, and political Chief of Staff. Kinsella is an adjunct professor at the University of Calgary’s Faculty of Law, a columnist, and a best-selling author. His books include The War Room and the X series, with his latest book, Age of Unreason, released in 2019.
